Water Efficient Washing Machines

High-efficiency washers use approximately 25 gallons per load versus 40 to 50 gallons per load for older machines.

Water Efficient Washing Machines

The washing machine is the second biggest water-user in most households; only toilets use more water. The next washing machine you buy can have an enormous effect on the amount of water you’ll use over the next 10 years. To incentivize purchase of the most water efficient washing machine, the Water Authority offer rebates for washing machines with an Integrated Water Factor (IWF) of 3.0 or less. For a list of qualifying machines, please click here.

Note: Customers may apply for the $100 water efficiency washing machine rebate every five years or when the property is sold.

With a high efficiency washer, you can:

Save Soap

Save Wear and Tear on Clothing

Save Drying Time

Save Energy

Save Money

Save Water

High-efficiency washing machines use half the water of traditional top loaders and the continuous but gentler tumbling action gets clothes cleaner without the wear and tear of an agitator.
